About

Ester Lou Weithers is the proud child of Caribbean immigrants, raised in Houston, Texas. The daughter of a pastor and a teacher, she fell in love with storytelling at an early age.

At Florida A&M University, Ester studied journalism and public relations. She quit her desk job at at MTV Networks in New York, to pursue television writing in Los Angeles in 2011.

Ester got her start in a TV writers' room as an assistant on SHOWTIME'S HOUSE OF LIES.  In 2015, she co-created two web series with BLACK&SEXYTV that were acquired by BET, SEXLESS and CHEF JULIAN.

In 2016, Ester Lou was named as the FOX Writers Intensive Winner. That same year, she got her first writing job as a staff writer on FOX's critically-acclaimed series PITCH. Ester Lou is currently writing on the second season of the Lee Daniels' produced series STAR. Ester's desire as a storyteller is to contribute to the expansion of blackness and womanhood on screen through stories that reflect the heroism of everyday people chasing an extraordinary life.

Her favorite things include spicy food, scented candles, any Afro or Caribbean dance class and Black Twitter.
