NEW MOON X LEO SZN

NEW MOON X LEO SZN

ESTER OF THE FUTURE—

My apologies. I am writing to you on the NEW MOON in LEO SZN.

It’s been two full moons since I last tapped in. That was not the plan. I foolishly thought, again — that I could finish my feature on a date that works for me and my schedule of anxiety. And then after a short hiatus (maybe miss one post), I’d tap back in to the blog.

Writer’s block proved me wrong. Is this what spiritual warfare is? Because that is how it feels. This story refuses to let me write it any other way that how it wants to be written. It’s world building, so there is part of me that is plain foolish for thinking, I can predict how this is gonna go. You’ve never written a psychedelic afro-futuristic thriller that you hope is also funny and flirty! So why do you think you can dictate how this is going to be written?!

Well, of course, you know. Future me was patient and intentional and discipled enough to finish the feature. I have to believe that. And just find more patience, intention discipline.

I am proud of my social media hiatus. Which may be a full exit. I might only return as my company names, and just start over. Actually, that sounds like a great idea.

And I am proud of submitting my research proposal to the university and I am actually excited about executing the project. It was inspired by the documentary SLY! Lives and Sly’s relationship with the new technology of his day - the drum machine. It got me thinking, should we as artists, be taking are cues about how we work with new technology - not from the tech gurus of today - but from artists of the past? What lessons can they teach us?

And then there was the trip to Chicago, very proud of that — I worked on the story every day and still enjoyed my time and exploration of art, particularly African masks. I will definitely return. I had a very good Black time.

Other projects are brewing — your agentic, your short film and new fascination with 3D printing and imaging. So no, you haven’t been idle. The opposite, you’ve found a flow that you can duplicate while traveling. In terms of process, that’s kinda big.

I love you girl. You keep trying. And that’s impressive. With love and pride, Ester of 2025.
