NEW MOON X TAURUS
“Real change begins with observing myself.” - Toni Jones
This is what happened during the time of the New Moon in Taurus, 2025.
I had to switch it up.
The last format, the one where I posted every day under a predetermined category was not working. I couldn’t stick with it. I am learning, that if I’m working too hard to get into a rhythm, some part of my plan is off beat.
Since 2020, I’ve paid closer attention to the seasons of the Earth. I’ve built a cute, little intentional practice for myself - using the moon cycles and the start of every astrological season as a reminder to self-assess and self-correct.
Following the moon, using her as a guide for self-reflection and inner work is an old practice. But here I was trying to post everyday as if I were a robot. I love robots. (more on that later) But I am not one. And I will never perform well or be at my creative best in a bed of rigidity.
I was trying to be a scientist. But I’m not a scientist. I am an artist inspired by scientific methods.
My rhythms have to have meaning.
So from now on, I’m only sharing updates on days of astrological significance: new and full moons, the start of a sign’s season, on the equinoxes and of course, on my solar return. (in this case, 36 hrs. after)*
I really hope I can keep this up. More than ever before, I really want to.
DISCLAIMER: This does not mean what you think it means. I made a lil’ list to keep me normal.
MY 9 ZODIAC COMMANDMENTS
remember to align with the rhythm of nature.
remember to shed your shadows and rise into your higher self with the seasons.
remember to check in with your internal guidance systems, to self-assess and to self-correct.
remember to honor the light in every part of the zodiac.
remember to integrate the shadows in every part of the zodiac.
remember to offer compassion before critique, to yourself first and then others.
remember the zodiac is not for limiting or labeling anyone, yourself first or others.
remember the zodiac is not for forcing expectations on behavior, yourself or others.
always remember that astrology is just one way to answer your souls questions. another gift your ancestors left behind for you. it belongs to its believers.
ARCHETYPES …
have been the center of my creative studies since a brilliant Black man I dated in New York, shared a book with me: Hero With A Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell. I embraced the idea of archetypes as a way to understand my journey in life after I found a brilliant Black woman on the internet and took her test. WOMENLOVEPOWER
Now one of favorite hobbies is to create SPOTIFY playlists for each archetype. This is my offering, a gift if you will, to anyone who decided to share your time and energy with me on this blog.
Click to listen & hopefully enjoy. 🫣 Thank you.

“Oh, You Like to Get Jazzed Up?!”(1)
One of my favorite dispensaries, is in Eagle Rock at the corner of a charming suburban, tree-lined street. On one visit, before I knew what strains were best for me, and I was still experimenting, I asked the young white boy with the iPad to remind me what I purchased on my last visit. Upon seeing the consistency of my trials with sativa he said: “Oh, you like to get jazzed up.” That made me laugh.
FOOTNOTES
*I realized this was the way I wanted to continue with this blog at the last full moon. The plan was to spend an hour a day working on this entry and then post on the New Moon. Of course, fear and anxiety kept me away until the actual new moon arrived. Then, I prayed to my higher self, dreamed blue and gave it another try.
If you’re reading this, we succeeded.
